In 1981 he decided to take all that experience into the field he enjoyed most and became a real estate broker. He established his own firm, Dominic deFazio and Associates which quickly became the leading edge creative boutique realty company in Old Pasadena. Along with his soon-to-be wife, Hem-young deFazio, the business thrived.
In 1991 the deFazios merged their company with Podley, Caughey & Doan, then in-mid 1998 Coldwell Banker bought the whole shebang. At Coldwell Banker the deFazios created their unique marketing concept The deFazio Experience, a new approach to real estate sales and service. Now, after more than 20 highly successful and rewarding years representing buyers and sellers of every ilk imaginable, he is convinced he made the right choice.
On the road to here, Dominic served as president of the 1,200 member Pasadena Foothills Association of Realtors, in addition to sitting on the association’s Board of Directors for five years. He also served on the Board of the California Association of Realtors.
In 2005, Dominic successfully completed an extensive series of programs and courses to gain one of the most respected and relevant designations in real estate business management, that of CRB (Certified Real Estate Business Manager) to become one of only 7,000 members worldwide.
Pasadena property owners, media representatives and fellow Realtors often seek his advice as he is known to have great knowledge of the real estate process and is extremely generous in giving of that knowledge.
